Booking online works as well, and it is the better tool when you already know the day you want and have nothing to ask about.

Four things get decided on the call, and having answers ready turns it into a two-minute conversation. Which day, and roughly what hour, ideally with a backup. Whether this is the only service or the first of two, since two appointments need one continuous block held rather than a pair of separate reservations. Whether any extra goes on top, because cupping, hot stones, CBD and the sauna half hour are all locked in at reservation time. And whether the booking is for you or is being bought as a gift.

Clothing needs no thought. There is nothing to change into and nothing to take off but footwear, so wear what the day already had you in. Trouser legs that push above the calf without a fight make the therapist's job slightly easier, and that is the whole of the wardrobe advice.

Worth saying out loud on the call rather than saving for the room. Say so if you are pregnant, so the therapist knows in advance. Speak to your doctor first if anything medical is happening with your feet, ankles or circulation, because this hour is built for rest rather than treatment and we are not qualified to weigh in on a clinical question. And if one specific spot is properly sore instead of merely tired, name it, so the pressure can be routed around it from the start.

Ticklish feet are worth mentioning too. They come up more than you would think, and they are not a reason to skip this. Sustained deep pressure feels nothing like light contact, and a therapist who knows in advance simply starts firmer.

Build a small margin either side of the appointment. Sprinting in from the car burns part of what you came for, and having something urgent waiting immediately afterwards burns the rest.

When plans collapse, and they do, use the same number quickly. The window that costs money is short: fewer than 24 hours before your start time and there is no refund. More notice than that and nothing is lost.

Turning up unannounced is allowed. Reserving remains the better bet, because a full hour needs one therapist clear from beginning to end and that is a hard thing to conjure on the spot.
